Unistik Heelstik
Reduces discomfort for babies1 during heelstick capillary blood sampling
Neonatal capillary sampling
Collecting blood from newborns through capillary sampling comes with unique challenges. Top priorities include getting a large enough blood sample with just one incision, maintaining strict sterility at all stages, and keeping the procedure as comfortable as possible for the baby.
Unistik Heelstik is a special heel incision device made to address these challenges. It features an easy-to-see alignment arrow so healthcare professionals can position the lancet accurately. Manual activation lets professionals operate the device confidently for the first time. The blister pack keeps the blade sterile after irradiation until you open it.
Giving you confidence when it matters most
Unistik Heelstik is designed to reach only the surface blood vessels in the heel without going deep enough to hit pain fibers in the skin. Instead of a puncture, it uses a motion blade and offers different penetration depths for preemie babies under 1kg, preemies up to 2.5kg, full-term infants up to 9kg, and even babies over 9kg or toddlers. This kind of device means less pain for the baby¹, less distress for the family, and more confidence for the healthcare professional collecting the sample.
Benefits
- Alignment guide for precise lancet placement.
- Manual activation button for easy device use.
- Sterile blade sealed after irradiation so it stays sterile in the blister pack until it’s opened.
