Owen Mumford History

Owen Mumford was founded in 1952 by Ivan Owen and John Mumford, who pioneered the first plastic autoinjector, transforming diabetes care. Since then, we have continued to innovate and expand our product portfolio, specializing in designing and manufacturing medical devices across various therapeutic areas. Our devices are used in drug delivery, blood collection, ophthalmology, podiatry, and pelvic health. The product range includes safety pen needles, syringes and needles, autoinjectors, lancets, and venipuncture devices for both capillary and venous blood collection, among others.

Our expertise in medical device design, engineering, and manufacturing is supported by a team of highly skilled professionals, state-of-the-art facilities, and a strong quality management system.
