Neuropen
Neuropen is a valuable tool for foot screening in peripheral neuropathy
Diabetic peripheral neuropathy is one of the most common complications of diabetes, often causing loss of sensation, foot ulcers, and in severe cases, amputation¹.
Treating these complications can be costly², but many can be prevented³, making early detection and intervention crucial for improving patient outcomes and reducing healthcare expenses.
Neuropen is the only peripheral neuropathy screening device that combines both pressure and sharpness tests, offering healthcare professionals a simple, compact solution for assessing both large and small nerve fibers in the foot.
Peripheral neuropathy can’t be ruled out without regular foot screening alongside symptoms and clinical evaluations.
Neuropen supports this screening process by setting a new standard – it’s the first dual-purpose, pocket-sized device built for safe and reliable testing.
How Neuropen works
The Neuropen device is reusable and can perform:
- A 10g pressure test with Neuropen Monofilaments to check for decreased sensation in the area tested.
- A 40g sharpness test with Neurotips single-use neuro exam pins to assess reduced sensitivity to sharpness or pain in small nerve fibers.
