Thanks to significant investment in manufacturing and production, the site has been producing high-quality medical devices since opening in 2015.
Our Malaysian site has reached many important achievements over the years, such as obtaining ISO 13458 and GDPMD certifications, securing product licenses from the Malaysian Medical Device Authority, and successfully passing its initial FDA audit with outstanding results. The site has also received several awards for excellence, including the HRDF award for the ‘place & train’ program and the Malaysia-UK Business of the Year award from the BMCC.
In 2020, we made a major move to grow our manufacturing capacity by purchasing a second factory site. This expansion has enabled us to boost our production capabilities and better meet the increasing global demand for our products. Alongside expanding our manufacturing, we’ve remained dedicated to lowering our carbon footprint and advancing sustainability. In 2022, we installed solar panels at our factory, which has helped cut our dependence on non-renewable energy sources and reduce our carbon emissions.
With 98% of our workforce being Malaysian, Owen Mumford Malaysia sources 100% of its packaging and machine tooling from local suppliers and chooses local sourcing for raw materials and parts whenever possible. This demonstrates our commitment to supporting the local community.
