Oxford, October 15, 2025 – Medical device expert Owen Mumford has expanded its 1ml safety syringe platform by introducing a companion reusable autoinjector.
The EcoSafe 1ml safety syringe (formerly known as UniSafe) is now compatible with the new reusable EcoSafe autoinjector, making it the first and only fully integrated safety syringe platform made for all patients, including those with limited dexterity or a fear of needles. By combining the syringe and autoinjector in a single system, EcoSafe helps make treatment easier, improves safety, and increases access for more patients, giving you confidence with every dose.
The demand for drug delivery systems that make self-administration simple and effective is rising. Patient self-administration helps relieve the pressure on healthcare systems, letting staff focus on other priorities, and lowers both time and costs spent on medication administration as well as the environmental impact.
Owen Mumford’s EcoSafe safety syringe answers this demand with a device that is user-friendly, safe (thanks to passive needle shielding), cost-effective, and designed to minimize waste (5g disposable weight). The syringe supports safe, independent use for most patients.

A peer-reviewed ISO Life Cycle Analysis (LCA) by Pré Consulting examined the impact of the reusable autoinjector from start to finish. The LCA showed a significant reduction in plastic waste and carbon footprint over time, especially as usage increases.
