Modern Slavery Policy Statement

Owen Mumford acknowledges and abides by the Modern Slavery Act 2015. We understand we are part of a broader network of customers, suppliers, and partners, and we are committed to protecting human rights so that every person is treated with respect and professionalism.

Statement of Continued Support
Our approach to ethical trade and human rights is backed not only by our organization’s commitment to the United Nations Global Compact Ten Principles, but also includes the following:

  • We use an online Eligibility to Work in the UK process, helping us make sure we aren’t employing anyone who has been trafficked and can’t legally work in the UK.
  • A comprehensive set of people policies, such as our Whistleblowing Policy, Recruitment and Selection Policy, Anti-Bribery Policy, and Equal Opportunities Policy.
  • We’re introducing an online Modern Slavery training module as part of our onboarding process. This training will be part of an e-learning program for all current associates, with refresher courses every two years.

We are dedicated to making sure our workplace is free from human trafficking and forced labor, and we strongly believe it’s our duty to promote ethical and legal employment practices throughout our supply chain. We will not knowingly support or do business with any company involved in slavery or human trafficking. We continue to develop and use supplier due diligence and approval procedures to support this goal.

Commitment
As part of our efforts to identify and reduce risk, Owen Mumford and its supply chain are required to follow these guidelines:

  • Will not use forced or mandatory labor, meaning any work or service performed by someone involuntarily and under threat of punishment.
  • Will make sure that the terms of employment are voluntary overall.
  • Will comply with the minimum age requirements set by current laws.
  • Will make sure that Owen Mumford associates receive wages and benefits that meet or exceed the legal minimum, and will follow working time directive laws.
  • Will not engage in any slavery, servitude, forced labor, or human trafficking outside the UK that would be illegal if it happened in the UK.
  • Will encourage any subcontractors or suppliers they get goods and/or services from for Owen Mumford products to follow these requirements.

In our contracts, we will require all suppliers to make sure they comply with all relevant laws and regulations, including those covering employment conditions, human trafficking, or forced labor.

Accountability
Any associate, contractor, or supplier involved in misconduct or breaking laws or regulations may face corrective action, up to and including termination of employment or cancellation of their goods and/or services contract.
