As the COVID-19 pandemic continues to affect us all, Owen Mumford feels even more appreciation for the healthcare workers on the front lines providing care to those who need it most. You’re showing up every day, and Owen Mumford is committed to supporting you.

New COVID-19 tests, using a fingerstick blood sample to screen for the virus, are now being offered. Healthcare workers are dealing with possible supply shortages, and labs are under pressure as they receive more samples for COVID-19 and other diagnostic testing.

To help, Owen Mumford is partnering with the Governor’s Office, GEMA, Homeland Security, and the Department of Public Health to deliver essential medical devices to hospitals, clinics, and healthcare professionals facing shortages. Five hundred thousand Unistik safety lancets and 5,000 Peezy urine specimen collection kits will be donated via GEMA to support healthcare organizations and facilities across Georgia that need them. This donation helps address supply issues and also reduces the load on labs by providing a urine collection system designed to minimize contaminated samples and decrease the need for retesting.

“Our Global organization is dedicated to supporting the fight against COVID-19, continuing our manufacturing and distribution at all our Global locations to keep helping those who need us. I’m thankful for all the hard work and commitment shown by our Associates. Everyone at Owen Mumford is proud to call Georgia our North American home for the past 27 years, and we’re honored to give back to our community,” said Travis Shaw, Executive Vice President, Owen Mumford, Inc. “Our innovative solutions help ensure accurate sampling and collection, easing the workload for healthcare professionals and laboratory staff and allowing more focus on diagnosing and treating COVID-19 patients.”
