Our sustainability road-map
As a global business and significant local employer, we have responsibilities to our people and planet. As a major plastics manufacturer is it important that we think about the way our business affects the planet and we should look to deliver innovation in an accountable way.
Our responsible actions
Here are some actions we have taken to become a more sustainable company:
- Last year we had already committed to the UN Global Compact Sustainable Development Goals (SDG’s) - 3 Good Health and well-being, 5 Gender Equality, 9 Industry Innovation and Infrastructure, 12 Responsible consumption and production and 13 Climate action.
- As part of our sustainability action plan, we joined the Business Ambition for 1.5°c commitment and are one of the first 1000 global businesses to sign up.
- We became one of the first in our industry to achieve B Corp status.
- We also joined the Race to Zero movement, a collaborative effort of leaders across the globe supporting efforts to achieve zero carbon recovery.
- To formalise our pledge to reduce the environmental impact of operations, we have now set a science-based target to achieve net zero by 2045.
- In 2014, our Environmental Steering Group was formed to conduct and monitor initiatives that support our corporate social and sustainability objectives.
- We are proud to announce that we are sponsoring a series of UN Global Compact webinars focusing on reducing scope 3 emissions.

Responsibility
As part of its long-established and continually evolving sustainability agenda we want to be a principal voice on how the medical device industry can review and maybe rethink how its products
are made, and how business is carried out. We hope to inspire other companies in our sector to implement their own real action plan and work towards the goal of safe and sustainable future for everyone.

Our UN Global Compact Sponsorship
We are sponsoring a series of UN Global Compact webinars focusing on reducing scope 3 emissions. For the vast majority of businesses, reducing Scope 3 emissions is the most challenging aspect of achieving science-based targets and net zero.
The series of webinars will explore how companies can reduce their Scope 3 emissions, with our own R&D engineer Isobel Filipova discussing steps for engaging stakeholders within our value chain to accelerate the reduction of a business’ Scope 3 emissions. As a UN Global Compact Network UK member we support this event helping businesses, government and society to progress while taking learnings throughout the series.
