Stage-Gate Programme Management
Managing and delivering projects and programmes effectively and on-time are key to the success of any business. At Owen Mumford, the Programme Management (PM) team is based in the Research and Development division, and works with the wider business via cross-functional teams to deliver new product development goals.

Customer centric approach
For customer projects, our established programme management framework provides transparency via processes, with the addition of customer specific review forums. This ensures from project initiation, through implementation to project close-out, that customer requirements and changing needs are closely aligned with agreed deliverables in a timely manner. Project management is a core competence at Owen Mumford.
New product development
Covering a wide range of needs from establishing new products or platforms, customising product variants through to bespoke customer solutions. The programme management team is well-established with enviable experience in the medical device industry and diverse backgrounds that are both commercial and technical. This provides the confidence in skills that cover the breadth of product development through to volume manufacturing, working within quality and regulatory frameworks.

Programme management process
Within the programme portfolio, individual projects are managed by a dedicated project manager working with a cross functional team. Project management process maps along with standard checklists and templated documents allow for consistency of approach and time spent being focussed on managing risks and achieving goals set.
Programme governance is managed via careful scope management, regular reviews and reporting. Project plans, decision logs, risk and action trackers are key to ensuring adherence to plan and anticipating any potential issues. This approach helps to ensure that we deliver projects that meet both our customer requirements and timelines.
For strategic projects, the new product development stage gate process engages key stakeholders to ensure critical requirements are being met across the commercial, research and development, engineering, quality, regulatory and operations groups.
