For more than 30 years, International Pharmaceutical Industry (IPI) has built a global readership and established itself as a leading publication for the pharmaceutical and biopharmaceutical sectors, specifically covering key scientific, technological, regulatory, and business topics.
As new biological therapies help treat chronic conditions, there is a growing need for innovation in drug delivery devices to match these advancements. The issue today is that some new biologics, which are often thicker and require larger doses, may need to be given intravenously. This results in patients having to make more trips to the hospital.
Up to now, most prefilled syringes were made for 1mL doses and for viscosities below 10cP. Recognizing that existing devices won’t work for some of the newer biologic drugs coming to market, we’ve developed the UniSafe 2.25mL prefilled safety syringe. With a capacity of up to 2.25mL, our innovative design keeps all the simplicity of the original UniSafe 1mL, now with new capability to handle higher volumes and viscosities.
