Owen Mumford wins exporter of the year in the Cotswold Life Family Business Awards 2014

This year, Owen Mumford was nominated and selected by the Jury as the unanimous winner of the category: Family Business Exporter of the Year Award.

Every year Cotswold Life’s Business & Professional Magazine invites an expert jury made up of leading professionals in the region to identify the best representative family businesses across a number of categories to pay tribute to the backbone of the British economy, which supports 9.2 million jobs and contributes almost a quarter of Britain’s total GDP.

This year, Owen Mumford was nominated and selected by the Jury as the unanimous winner of the category:Family Business Exporter of the Year Award.

The independent panel of judges considered a large number of very successful family business exporters within the Cotswolds and there was much debate around the nominations but Owen Mumford was declared the unanimous winner due to its undeniable export success.  In fact, export is the mainstay of the company’s revenue with 90% of its products sold outside of the UK.

Last year Owen Mumford restructured its global business with five new regional management structures to drive both its direct markets (USA, UK, France, Germany and China) and other territories where Owen Mumford operates through distributors.  The company has ambitious plans to increase its global presence further with particular focus on emerging markets in Latin America and Asia-Pacific.

Further export growth is forecast due to the rapid increase of diabetes globally, which Owen Mumford’s core products treat plus its OEM pharmaceutical partners are focusing on biologics, which require injection devices like those designed by Owen Mumford.

The official announcement of the winners of the Family Business Awards 2014 will appear in the July edition of Cotswold Life, following which there will be a special lunch held for the winners and members of the Jury as guests of Cotswold Life.  Presentation of the Awards will take place at the lunch.
