New Witney MP visits Head Office

New Witney MP visits Head Office

On Monday 3rd April, we were privileged to welcome Robert Courts, the new Conservative MP for Witney & West Oxfordshire on his first visit to our Head Office in Woodstock.  As part of the Easter parliamentary recess, Robert Courts was visiting local businesses across his constituency who provide significant employment and economic benefit to the local community. Mr Courts was met by Mark Owen, Chairman and Jarl Severn, Managing Director who spent time briefing him on Owen Mumford’s history and global expansion including reference to the previous week’s successful official opening ceremony of OMM’s new Malaysian facilities.

The MP was given a tour around the Woodstock site to illustrate the diverse range of functions at just one of our Oxfordshire-based facilities. First, Mr Courts was taken to Research & Development, where designers took time to explain the types of projects they were working on and invited the MP to practise using a UniSafe® device.  Afterwards, the tour went to the Test Lab which was followed by a demonstration of the new hi-tech 3D printers to show how we design and prototype medical devices.  Finally, the tour visited the lancet manufacturing facilities, providing insight into the scale and volume that the Woodstock site alone produces.

Everyone agreed that the visit from our new MP was a great opportunity for Owen Mumford to showcase a highly successful business in Mr Court’s new constituency and we look forward to welcoming him again in the near future.
